THE HOUSE
ABOUT US
We are Janina and Sascha from Germany and came to Sao Tomé and Principe fort he first time in 2018. It was love on first sight with and after the 2nd trip we decided to built our dream house: simple, inspired by the way the local people buit their houses, with a touch of modernism, a little bit of comfort and lot’s of love. What you see ist he result.
Before going into detail, some generall information about the house:
The house has an inside space of 75m2 and a balcony with 54m2.
There is an additional big terrace below the complete house.
The plot has 2000m2 and is totally enclosed.
There is a place for parking on the plot directly next to the house.
THE KITCHEN AND LIVING
With the kitchen block right in the center of the room and the two foldable glass doors facing the Terrace in front of you, cooking any dish is pure joy. The mid-century daybed and solid-wood cabinet complete the simple, yet modern approach to this room.
THE BEDROOM
Truly romantic and peaceful the Sun rising in the east sends it’s first soft rays into the bedroom and a breeze moves the white curtains. Again, there are two doors which can be opened or closed as you like. During the night you sleep savely underneath the huge luxury cotton mosquito net.
THE BATHROOM
The bathroom with a window has a large walk-in shower and relaxing hot water. For your comfort it is equipped with fresh soft towels.
THE BALCONY
Frankly speaking, there is no real difference between outside and inside. The large Terrace is completely covered, so that the sun only reaches it in the mornings and in a small corner of the afternoon. There is always a soft upwind from the ocean so you can enjoy the tropics and still keep calm and cool.
THE TERRACE BELOW
Underneath the complete house you yan find a wooden covered terrace. It offers a wonderful view to the garden. The sea breeze and the shadow from the house makes the heat easily bearable. This is a wonderful place for doing some yoga lessons or just relax.
THE GARDEN
The sheer size of 2000 sqm allows for a little walk, may it be alongside the waterfront with it’s wild vegetation going all the way down to the water, or through the Banana-trees behind the house. There is a beautiful little hill underneath palm trees to enjoy the view, or you can sit right underneath the house on the wood covered lower terrace.
